Internal First Aid Training with Head of HSE
Oasis Enterprises took a significant step towards ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees by conducting an initial phase of first aid training for our staff members. This initiative is part of our broader commitment to creating a safe work environment and fostering a culture of preparedness and responsibility.
Purpose and Structure of Our Training Program
The primary purpose of our internal first aid training was to provide orientation, raise awareness, and conduct an initial evaluation of our employees’ readiness to handle emergency situations. Members were chosen based on their seating arrangements within the office, ensuring that each section of our workplace is covered by a trained individual who can respond quickly and effectively in case of an emergency.
This internal training is a precursor to a comprehensive third-party training program, which will culminate in the issuance of a certificate of competence in providing first aid from an accredited institution. By starting with an internal orientation, we aimed to ensure that all participants have a foundational understanding of first aid principles, making them better prepared for the more in-depth external training.
Importance of First Aid Training in the Workplace and Beyond
First aid training is not just a regulatory requirement; it is a critical life skill that can make a significant difference in emergency situations. In the workplace, having trained first aiders can reduce the severity of injuries and illnesses, decrease recovery times, and even save lives. For daily life, these skills are equally important, providing individuals with the confidence and competence to respond effectively to accidents or health crisis that may occur at home or in public places.
Our commitment to first aid training aligns with Dubai’s regulatory framework, specifically Administrative Resolution No. (7) of 2022 stating the action of Planning, Implementation, Verification and Follow up and the “Dubai Municipality technical guidelines for First Aid Requirements (DM-PH&SD-P4-TG17).” These regulations outline the necessary standards for first aid readiness in workplaces, ensuring that organizations adhere to best practices in health and safety.
By complying with these guidelines, Oasis Enterprises not only meets regulatory requirements but also demonstrates our dedication to the highest standards of employee welfare. These regulations emphasize the importance of having trained first aid personnel on-site, adequate first aid supplies, and clear procedures for responding to medical emergencies. As we move forward to the next phase of third-party training and certification, we are confident that our employees will be well-prepared to handle any emergency, ensuring a safer and more secure environment for everyone.
We encourage all organizations to prioritize first aid training, recognizing its value not only in the workplace but also in everyday life. By doing so, we can create a community of individuals who are ready and capable of making a difference when it matters most.
